Hand made Sterling silver, yellow gold and brilliant Diamond ring. This piece has a harmonious balance between the rustic texture of the silver and the delicacy of the gemstone, offering a unique alternative to the traditional polished engagement ring. The gold bezel is smooth and polished, creating more focus on the Diamond and adding to its sparkle.
To create this piece we employ the ancient method of sand casting, where molten Sterling silver is poured in a sand mold. Each mold is carefully prepared to yield a ring in the precise size needed for each customer and the texture is added by hand with a very small tool before pouring the metal. The whole process is unique to each ring, and therefore the result is a one of a kind piece that cannot be exactly replicated.
We also offer this ring in 10 other styles.

Diamond is probably the most well-known gemstone of them all and today undoubtedly considered the gem of all gems. However, diamond has been coveted since ancient times and Pliny the Elder wrote in "Naturalis Historia" that diamond was “the substance that possesses the greatest value, not only among the precious stones, but of all human possession”.
According to Pliny the Elder, diamond would neutralise poisons, cure delirium and dispel bad thoughts. It has also been believed to be able to cure any kind of disease and drive away the plague. When worn on the left hand, diamond was said to protect against all evil, be it beasts, demons, devils or evil men and it was said that its hardness could overcome the devil himself. And it was believed diamond would protect the wearer against night spirits and nightmares. Romans believed diamond would promote harmony.
Diamond is the birthstone of April and the gemstone marking the 60th and 75th wedding anniversaries.
Historically worn for: serenity, calmness and clarity.
Every piece we create is entirely hand made to order in our workshop in Oslo, Norway. We do not have any ready to ship products and only begin working on a piece once your order comes through. When you purchase a ring, a pendant, or any other piece from us it will always slightly differ from the one photographed. This is a natural part of the process of hand making and it adds character and uniqueness to your jewelry.
Since the very beginning of Maru Jewelry we have tried maintaining a minimal and organic feel in our designs and continue to draw inspiration from all around us. Our designs are inspired in the beautiful diversity of natural landscapes, the abundance of shapes, textures and colors found in the vast wilderness of Norway. Some of our pieces are particularly rough, emulating the resilience of the flora that manage to survive the harsh Norwegian winters. These pieces tend to be weighty and oxidized, are typically cast in sand in a centuries-old technique, and are made to feel and look like ancient treasures.
We take pride in our production process, featuring only ethically-sourced stones purchased from certified distributors, and using the most natural materials available on the market. We substitute all animal-derived products typically used in jewelry making such as beeswax, leather hammers and aprons, with vegan alternatives, and we try to further minimize our impact on the environment by only using renewable energy to power our tools.
Please contact us for any custom requests or enquiries, as we all always happy to assist our customers and to collaborate.
